A friday surprise (kind of)

On Friday, here is what we learned about Baby Ahlstrom:

He is a he. That's right, we'll have a mini-Andy in about four months. (I wasn't 100% sure, but had suspected a boy, because everything I'm wearing these days is blue. Weird, but it turned out to be true.)

He is super active - so why is it that I still can't feel him moving? Something to do with the thickness of my placenta. (um...what?) Hopefully he'll move soon. You'd think with Andy tapping my stomach and commanding him to move all morning would work, but not yet. I guess this kid has already decided to show us his rebellious side.

His brain, heart, and facial structure look great.

All his measurements are average (good), which the doctor said was great. Andy was all, "Just average?" And I was like, "Dude, at this point, I do NOT want our kid to be above average size, because I'm the one who has to get him out!" Right? Right.

The real question is this: what in the world do we name him? We had no problem choosing and agreeing on girl names, but we cannot agree on boy names. We need some suggestions! (Real suggestions - this means you, Jon Tolman.)

You should really talk to Larry, he's full of serious name suggestions such as Cashmere Funk and Tennis. All your troubles will be over!

Yay! Little boys are so fun, and protect all the rest of the kiddies. Good luck with the naming process--we have found it to be very difficult, as we rarely agree.

Yay for boys and (hopefully) no princess stuff! :) We are really excited for you. Boy names are so hard, we could only find one we agreed on! Good luck!

Hey, congrats! Little boys are a lot of fun. Boy names are hard for me, too. Girl names, no prob. Let's see... I'm going to have to whip out my baby names book. And there are tons of baby name websites out there. Even ones that tell you the names that most "go" with you and your husband's names. Seriously. I knew some Ahlstroms growing up, and their boys names were Seth, Doug, and Matt. Just FYI. It seemed to work for them. :)

I'm not sure if I should be insulted or honored that I was specifically mentioned someone completely unqualified to pick out a name.
If Nora had been a boy, he would have been Charles Dinosaur Tolman. You can use it if you really want to. Charles Dinosaur Tolman Ahlstrom. Not bad, eh?
I've also heard that the next big thing is to name your kids after your favorite foods, so Sashimi Ahlstrom, Crispix Ahlstrom, and Wendy's Value Menu Ahlstrom are all strong possibilities. Call me. I have some more.

Congrats! I can't tell you that boys are the best, because I don't have one! But I have the feeling you will like him, he he he. How about Parker, Issac, Elliot, or Spencer. Those are a some of my favorites. If you want more I will give them to you!

HOLY COW I am sooooo behind on your life, Alicia! Congratulations. You know I have a serious bias towards boy children, and you also know I have 4 of them, so I've done lots of name research. But I like weird names, so, you know. Feel free to laugh.

Besides my boys' name, which I like most obviously (Bennett, Owen, Jake, Finn) I like: Fielding, Magnus, Turner, Wilson (Wil) and Charley. Okay, Charley is not weird. It is charming. Which your boy is sure to be. Oh, and I absolutely love the name Andy. So you could name him after his daddy.

Oooooooooohhhhhhhh I am so happy for you!!! Hip hip hooray!

There is nothing wrong with Cashmir Funk. Nothing at all. Cashmir Funk Ahlstrom - kinda has a nice ring to it.

(Pardon the multiple posts - I catch up on blogs in a binge manner, with lots of catch-up). We miss you guys, are excited for you, and hope to see you soon!
